    Red face Liquid Eyeliner

Is it advisable to wear liquid eyeliner if you wear contact lenses? I've noticed that liquid eyeliner, to begin with, is difficult to put on (compared to the pencil). To make it worse, I wear lenses, and I always manage to get the liquid stuff right into my eye and it burns plus, messes up my lenses.
Any advise on how to accomplish using liquid eyeliner without the burning eyes?

ok first of all, if its burning your eyes, stop using the liquid liner you're using hun! its probably not hypoallergenic and not safe to use around the eyes and/or you're having an allergic reaction to it. its not normal to have bad eye irritation from eye makeup, so if anything you use is hurting in any way dont use it. im sure you can find another liquid eyeliner that you can work with to perfect.

to not get any it in your eye, try to keep a steady hand when applying liquid liner. try placing your elbow on a counter/desk/table, and resting your pinky on your cheek, and then take care to make thin, short and connecting streaks across your eyelid

Loreal has a liner in the HIP collection that you use with a brush and that one seems to stay in place

If it's burning def stop using it! It took me alot of practice before i could get a prefect line with the liquid eyeliner. There is one that i would recommend though! It's Urban Decay's Liquid Liner. The brush on it is fabulous, and the formula helps the liner to just glide on smoothly. It's good because they made it in fun crazy colors, but they also have basic colors like black.

I have really sensitive eyes as well, and i also wear contact lenses and i've never had a problem with this particular liner burning my eyes. here's the link:

Use a cake liner, it gives you the same effect as the liquid but easier to apply and its not as watery as the liquid. Keep on practicing you'll get there. Take care..

Gel eyeliner works best,it's similar to liquid eyeliner but it's thicker and you have more control.

i only ever use liquid eyeliner on the upper part of my eyelid - never in the bit where pencil eyeliner is put

all liquid and gel eyeliners will do this

i suggest a nice soft kohl pencil like barry m which goes on - even if your eyes are watering

and a sweep of liquid eyeliner on the top if you feel like it

Ladies, speaking of liquid eyeliner, what brand/s are you using?

Use a felt tip liner instead. It looks like a felt tip pen but is actually liquid liner and is 100 TIMES easier and quicker to use! Here's one that I have from Physician's Formula http://www.makeup411.com/411_product...e%20marker.jpg I also have the one from Maybelline. Both are really great and looks like, if not better than the traditional one

    Hope it helps
