What shades are you using? Sometimes I notice people use too much of one color when they don't have to.
i would keep to neutral colors. also, i just am learning myself that you dont need to put lots on - i like to SEE the make up on myself, but others looking at you can see it much better!! a light hand is key. as well, when you are done putting the shadow on and before you gloss it up, use an eye blender brush and just keep sweeping over to soften the look.
i have no luck with this, but if you want no shadow and just gloss, use a bronzer all over your face and then use vaseline on your lids (very little!!!!). i hope this helps!
Okay, well this is what i'd do..
For the base i would use concealer under my eyes and anywhere else you'd need it, like to cover spots. I'd then take some tinted moisturizer, (or if you don't have that you could just mix a little liquid foundation with face moisturizer) and apply this all over the face.. this just helps even out the skin tone without the risk of making the foundation look caked on and making it look too 'overdone'.
For the eyes, you could put some skin-coloured eyeshaddow on with a kind of pearly finish to it to give a little glowy effect. Apply a pearly white eyeshaddow to your brow bone, just under the eyebrows and blend.
If you have light hair to mid brown, i'd use a brown pencil eyeliner from the middle of my top lids to the outer corners. If you have hair any darker than mid-brown, use black pencil eyeliner. Don't forget to smudge because you wouldn't want a harsh line for this look.
You can even skip this step if you don't even want eyeshaddow or eyeliner.
Apply white eyeliner to the inner corners of your eyes and blend (or even a damp eyeliner brush with a bit of white eyeshaddow on the tip will do). This makes your eyes look really bright. You can also line your water line with the white but it doesn't really matter.
Then i'd use mascara on both upper and lower lashes.
Use a natural blusher shade that suits your skin tone on the apples of your cheeks and blend up to your hair line. Do this sparingly.
For the lips, you can use a clear gloss or vasaline.
To finish, I would use a bronzer or a highlighter.. something that gives a nice pearly glow to your face.
Blend this on your cheeks, nose, forehead and a bit on your chin.
Hopefully this will give you the 'glossy' effect that you're looking for ?
Aha, i'm sorry about the essay ! Hope it helps (: x
try soft colors like lavdener and light pink.
