you could try using a foundation brush if you don't already. it did wonders to me. also, you could apply it from the interior of your face to the exterior. check out this video on how to apply foundation from my fav guru http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qCY8LxB5MA
tell me if it works for you![]()
Oh yea, I used to use a make up sponge, but some guy at Ulta insisted that I use a brush, lol. So I bought one about amonth ago, and Ive been using it ever since. Thank you SO much for the video though, I'm gonna watch it right now![]()
The video was amazing, I subscribed to her! Lol, thank you!![]()

First of all don't apply make-up soon after you've washed your face.
After washing your face, splash it with cold water, this tighten pores to help stop them getting blocked.
Let your skin rest for a few minutes then apply a mouisturiser, i recommend E45 cream, its not expensive, but it's so effective, i cant live without it!
Apply a few dots across your forehead, cheeks nose and chin, and rub in circular motions, you dont need much though!
Once your skin has absorbed the moisturiser i would suggest using a primer, it's not essential but it helps the foundation stay better. I don't use one but i know MAC do a great one!
Next apply foundation, i use Max Factor colour adapt, however because i sometimes get dry skin i find it's much more effective if mixed with a tinted moisturiser, my favourite one being No.7'.
Apply it in the same way you did with the foundation, dabbing lightly around your face so it's even, and not all stuck in one place. Rub it in using a sponge but don't be too rough, it's important to be gentle to your skin! Remember to blend the make up below your jaw line, otherwise you'll get that dreaded fake look where your neck is a lot paler than your face!
Next leave the foundation to set for a few minutes, this is important because if you try to apply powder straight away you will get patches, so the foundation must be dry!
Using a powder is fantastic to stop your face looking shiny, and you don't need a lot!
Always apply it using a brush as pads/sponges may smudge the foundation and make it patchy. Apply it lightly in an upward motion, but downwards below the jawline, focusing on the nose, cheeks and forehead.
After this you can apply blusher or bronzer as you wish, across the cheekbones!
Hope this helps!
I suggest you try buying yourself the $60 Bare Minerals kit from Sephora. It comes with a dvd that you could use to learn how to apply everything that it includes (3 wonderful brushes, two powder foundations, mineral veil, and warmth), and it lasts for about four to five months. With that, if you want to use an extra foundation to really cover up any bags/acne/whatever you might have, i suggest you try getting a Givenchy brand Mr. Light pen in whatever your shade is. I use these products every day, and the only reason my friends realize that I have makeup on is because I wear mascara and eyeshadow.
I agree with Michelle! You need to get Bare Escentuals. I have used this for about 10 years and will NEVER use anything else. It's easy to use and feels amazing on your skin - you can't even tell you have anything on by the feel of it.
I disagree. Beare escentuals slides off my face and made me break out really bad. I use a totally matte foundation now, I'm going to try another place that makes custom foundation because if it's the wrong color it will never look right no matter what you do.
I like to use Giorgio Armani's second skin nude makeup because it's light and very natural-looking. I've never used a brush to apply foundation, but I use my fingers and that seems to work for me. However, I'm also a big fan of mineral makeup like Sheer Cover.
