Are artificial (solar) nails "out"?

Hey there!

I have recently been pondering whether or not I should get solar nails. I have never had any kind of fake nails and after doing some research these seem to be a good option. I have nice nails already so these being just overlays I think will work for me. I am just looking for something that will require less maintianing on my end since I sometimes get lazy (don't tell anyone).

My question is - are artificial nails totally out of style? Something is telling me to check on this before I get them, I pride myself on being up to date and fashionable so I don't want to set myself back LOL.

No, I don't think that they are out of style but from past experience they are unhealthy. They make your nails weak and brittle. If your nails are doing good already then you should just leave them as is...plus at the nail solan, they cut off your nails so you would be at square one getting them to grow back afterward... I vote NO! LOL. but if it is fashion that you worry about, I don't think they are out of style.

Thank you very much! After doing some research I actually found out that "solar" nails aren't even real, it's just a gimmick that salons use to make you think you are getting something better than acrylic. If I were to do it, I would get gel nails, but now I am thinking I should just treat myself to a mani more often so that I am not the one that has to take care of them all the time

I figured it was a scam. I've never heard of solar nails. A few months ago I had acrylic put on and I regret it so much! I'm still waiting for that stupid line to grow off my nails. Natural ftw!

I really hate getting acrylics, but i think that will never be out of style.
Everyone does it so often.
I pride myself on growing out my nails and having them look nice naturally.
But sometimes I look at acrylics and really want to get them.
