    Question Make-up artist!

    Hi everyone,

I know there are many threads on this subjects already but I'm still abit baffled. So I am in need of your help!

I want to become a make-upartist but dont want to spend huge amounts of money on specialised courses and I'm a single mother with a one yr old so can't do a full time course, so at the moment I'm looking for all the good self study materials which will help me.

Ive bought a few books and searched for online tutorials but have only found a few of quality,

So please post back with information on

    -Books
-Online tutorials: name of the video or artist
    -Websites

And what ever else is available

    Kind Regards

The 5 Minute Face by Carmindy, Color by Iman, and any book by Kevyn Aucion. You can usually find these at barnes and noble. Also, I strongly suggest going to school one day, its the only way to be taken seriously in the industry. But in the meantime, once you get good enough try to get a job with MAC. They certify all their artists.

i badly wanna be amake-up artist when i'm old enough i'm already practising now! haha i watch youtube tutorials either Michelle Phan or Pancea 81 they are both really good but pancea 81 focuses more on eyes than anything else whereas michelle phan focuses on the entire face. and there are loads of part time courses that can be done try just searching the internet and find one that really suits you and then go for it, i hope you do well, Good luck x

Youtube is a great place to start. I am a freelance makeup artist,self-taught since I was 15. I rarely go to Youtube for tutorials,I mainly go there for reviews of beauty products before I buy.
