    Question Sensitive skin - help!?

    Hi everyone!
This is kinda embarrassing to talk about, so I really hope you can help me with this…
My skin is very sensitive when it comes to shaving. I’ve tried to change the razorblades often, tried to shave with the hairs and against them. Nothing seems to work! *sighs*
My skin reacts by getting darker f. x at my armpits, and I get red spots at my legs…
Are there any products I can use to get rid of this?

Have you tried waxing yet? I recommend going to a professional for it, but it really does make a difference.

No I haven't, actually I thought it would make it worse.
But thank you, I'll try that :3

My skin is super sensitive too, and waxing definitely helps minimize irritation. Unfortunately, I'm a big baby, and the pain--very expensive pain--was just not worth it for me. (Plus, I was literally burned a few times, and that made me never want to risk it again.) Here's what I would recommend based on a routine that works for me:
    1. Apply hydrocortisone to any current irritation. You can even mix it with an unscented body lotion like Eucerin or Lubriderm and apply it all over. This should help your skin start to heal, so you don't keep adding to the problem.
    2. Wait at least 60 minutes after shaving before applying anti-perspirant/deodorant or any fragranced products.
    3. Schick Quattro is the only razor I ever use. I don't know if it's the extra blades or the moisturizing strip on it, but it's the best I've found. I use it with EOS (the evolution of smooth) ultra moisturizing shave cream that I purchase from ULTA and prevent irritation afterward by using Clinique for Men Post Shave Healer. It's the only system I've found that really works. I still use hydrocortisone on my bikini area once a week to be safe and change my blade as frequently as possible.
Sensitive skin can be really frustrating, so I hope this helps!

Butterflykisses: Yes it can be very frustrating, and thank you for your answer – It was very helpful!
ishouldcoco: I’ve tried 1 or 2, it helps a bit, but not very much ):

I totally agree with Butterflykisses recommendations ... waxing is extremely painful and really not worth $$$ .... i agree that a Schick Quattro shaver is the way to go ... along with a sensitive skin non-irritant gel or cream (an Australian brand called Alchemy and A'kin have some great products....the men's shaving kit is a must!)

I would suggest using shaving oil, due to its moisturizing effects. After all shaving is basically exfoliating to the highest degree! I make my own if you are interested, just tell me what scent you like!
