put some moisturising cream on at night before you go to bed and in the morning your skin should feel softer.

Okay I had the exact same problem and because I also have really sensitive skin finding a routine to relieve the problem was quite challenging. Firstly using a facewash can wash away too much oil from your skin so consider changing to a cleansing lotion instead (I love the lancome one!). I have a friend who use baby oil on cotton wool as a cleanser and she swears by it. As far as toner goes, some of those ones for minimising black heads and acne ar very harsh on the skin so try to avoid them if you can and use one specifically for dry skin instead. Exfoliaters tend to dry out the skin too if over used so I wouldn't recommend using one more than twice a week! Somebody above also mentioned using bio oil. That has been such a godsend for me! I just put a few drops on my face at night and hey presto! Baby soft and nourished skin in the morning... As far as foundations go I like the rimmel lasting finish foundation. Its not very expensive and moisturises your skin quite well too so it doesn't make your skin looked dry and cracked etc. Im also a huge fan of the estee lauder double wear foundation however this is quite expensive...Good luck!

I have exactly the same problem got loads of things from doctors and everything.. What seemed to work for me though was some exfoiliating(if thats how you spell it) face wash, with loads of little bits in it, to like almost scrub all the dead skin away, it doesn't work permenantly but lasts a little while. But its better than paying top wack for everything else lol x

Try Origins, Stay Tuned--it is a makeup that is adjusting to both dry and oily skin. Ask for a sample first. That way, you will not have wasted your money. If you can't find it in your store (it's in the better department stores) go to origins.com, and you can buy it online.
    Good Luck!

There are some good skincare advice there

Also make sure you are using foundation for dry skin. Stick foundations are great for dry skin. Kryolan make a good one, they are a professional brand and I'm not sure how much they cost, but if you can track it down they are great!

well youre in luck! i suffered from the same skin condition for the longest time. I found my skin changed on the season, one day it would be fine and moisturized and they next a flaky mess! Then i'd put load of moisturizer on and I'd get acne! I found the best moisturizer and foundation for dry skin. The moisturizer is called Cold Cream by Avene which you can get at any drugmart at about $20 and the foundation is called supermoisture makeup by clinique. Good luck and let me know how this works for you!

try mixing your foundation with a little bit of moisturiser on the back of your hand before you apply it. its better for your skin and should help the dry skin x

also be careful about what your lotions and facecreams contain. Proper stuff should not contain stuff like metylparaben, prepylparaben and petrolatum. Petrolatum is just what it sounds to be, petrol. Metyl- and propylparaben can tend to dry out the skin more than necessary. That is maybe why for example Nivea doesn't work because it contains petrolatum. Good Luck!

You have to make sure you are using the right kind of foundation. There are certain foundations that are made for dry skin like was mentioned about the stick. A mineralize foundation by MAC is best for dry skin. I have oily and don't wear it unless I am going for the dewy look. Check out a MAC counter and head to an Ulta and ask about Dermologia.

I have the exact same problem, bad dry skin. my life saver is Nutrix from Lancome, its amazing. Its heavy, so you can wear it at night, if you need extra moisture during the day because your moisturizer isn't cutting it, then you can mix it with your everyday moisturizer. also, primer is usually key to create a barrier between your skin and the foundation. try an oil based foundation, it will keep you moisturized throughout the day!
    hope that helps.!

make sure u get very thick moisturising cream even do some fask mask that will quench your skin plus when applying your foundation for a lighter look miss in some of that thick moisturizer so u get rid of the dry skin and get a nice light finish

here's a recipe for a moisturizing natural avacado facial it will help alot because its all natural and its got fatty acids in it
Avocado is a naturally rich moisturizer. Mash the meat of the avocado into a creamy texture. Massage into the face and neck . Leave on for 15 minutes and gently rinse off.

    hope this helped

if you go to Tesco and have normal to oily skin the Barbra Daily oil free foundation is amasing!.. ive been using it for over 3 years and i'm still using it!.. its not patchy, reduces oil but keeps the moisture there and best putting on with your fingers or a sponge, ide reccomend using with fingers as most other things cause smears and patchyness around the rubbing areas such as your neck and forehead.. they also do an oil one for dry skin and all my friends use it and thing its the best thing since sliced bread!.. Hope it helps!
