Hi girls,

I guess the main difference between Mineral makeup and makeup is that Mineral makeup is a foundation with loose powder instead of cream.
Some Mineral Makeups are also supposed to be really good for your skin. Most of the common mineral makeups have zinc oxide in it. This can help you to keep your skin healthy and clear. Some Makeups also have a natural sun blocker built in which is cool![]()

I am interested in trying out the mineral makeup I have been hearing so much about lately, does anyone know a good brand to try?
I rather prefer for mineral makeup because it makes the skin healthy..![]()
I am very curious about mineral makeup as well. Since it is in powder form, is it a little more difficult to apply? Do you use a brush or some kind of a pad?
Mineral make up and regular make up powders generally have the same ingredients. Mica, Serecite, and Iron Oxides with a little Zinc Oxide.
If you are allergic to nickel, however, the loose powders are less likely to cause break outs because they have no metals in the packaging, since they aren't pressed into the container.
i am interested about the mineral make up. I haven't used it! Guess i need to try it, hope i'm not allergic to it. Some foundation gives you paleness feature, with this it feels like having your skin glows.
mineral makeup is a lot healthier for your skin, especially if you use the better brands like (here in australia, from my experience in pharmacy) inika, nude by nature, or natural glamour. when used correctly, it gives much more natural yet complete coverage, and brands like inika claim to be able to conceal conditions such as acne and roscea instantly. and nearly all of them have natural spf.
it is worth speaking to someone at the store and giving them a try though, because some of the lifestyle brands (maybelline, loreal etc) aren't as pure and still use ingredients like talc to make the powders go further, which better brands dont. occasionally this can have not such a good result, a customer at work once had to return a loreal mineral foundation because it made her break out.
when it comes to application, you generally apply them with a brush in a circular movement: dip, tap, swirl.
1) dip the tip of the brush in the powder,
2) tap brush gently on the edge of the pot to remove any excess,
3) apply with circular movement; "swirl"

I've use Bare essentials for a long time & I love it!!
I'm allergic to just about everything and happen to fall into the 6% of americans with some rare freak disease or disorder. (no, I'm serious)
So don't be scared to tried. I use to have bad ance and it's much better now that I use mineral makeup. I covers my scar and discolourations without feeling heavy or cloging my pours.
