I have a boyfriend who I've been dating for a few months but have known him for much longer. There are times I want to say that I love him, but I remember him saying that he would never be the first to say that he loves a girl...it kind of hurt me a little because I don't want to be just any girl (if that makes any sense at all). I'm not sure what I should do to approach him because I don't want to tell him that I've been suppressing my feelings like this way.

Just go for it. If he loves you back he will also say it and if not it's better to know it soon. right?

I say go for it, and when you do, do it in a way where you call him out on it. Mention something like hun I know you've mentioned to me that you would never say it first but I can't suppress my feelings and I need you to know regardless if you feel the same or not, I Love you. If he loves you it shouldn't matter who says it first, knowing that person loves you back is more then enough.

When it feels right and you're not questioning if it's the right time to say it or not, it'll all come naturally.

If he wasn't to say it back, don't get down about it. It's better that he waits until he means it, rather than saying it for the sake of it.

Maybe your doubts about saying i love you don't come from him but you, of course i don't know you but maybe you don't truley love him, not saying you one day won't, but you want to love him, you want to be at that stage in a relationship. Most of all you want him to love you. Maybe you want to say i love you so much cause you really want to hear it back. I loves you can't be forced, though maybe he is not ready and you think it will never come just find comfort in his behavior. Does he act like he loves you and shows you affection cause sometimes that just as powerful as those 3 little words.
