Wink How to choose the right brushes and care for them

Here's a way to test out a brush. Balance the brush on its very tip. Hold the brush vertically on the back of your hand, bristles down, and lightly bounce the brush to test the strength of the bristles. They should only have a slight bend; if they splay or flatten completely, then the brush will be too difficult to use, and the makeup will go everywhere except where you want to put it.

When doing detailed work such as applying eyeliner or defining a brow, you need to add a little pressure with your brush as you apply it. If you have a bad brush the slightest pressure will move the bristles from 1mm to 5mm. And that is huge distance when talking about eyeliner.

With all brushes is a 50/50 ratio, you can buy an expensive brush or a painters brush and get a better outcome with the cheaper painters brush from the craft store. So this is a handy tip when going out to buy brushes.

Best way to take care of them is a weekly cleaning. One time a week, cleanse them in hot water, using soap. I personally use purell and paintbrush cleaner. Take a plate and rub the brush on the plate under the hot water until it runs clear. The purell will cleanse it of any left over bacteria. Set out to dry flat.

ok heres a tip on kabuki. honestly, you don't wanna go extremely expensive, but you will not find an artist brush like it.. be cheap when you can. but as i said test them and you cannot go wrong. kabuki you may wanna go to a store where you can actually have the brush in hand. just test it the same way. also, if you are going to get your brushes at a craft store, be sure to look at different sites where you can get a good look at the tip shapes, sizes. I myself have many different kinds of brushes and purchased some regular brushes in a set of 35. tested them and they are great. i also have artist brushes. id recommend when you do go to the craft store. look for the angled detailed brush. it has a 45 degree angle(the brush handle is angled) its great for putting on liquid or gel eyeliner.

By the way i have an AWESOME line of new minerals. lip gloss, nail polish color, mascara color, eyeshadow, eyeliner, put it on wet or dry all from one little container. its crazy good. www.burninglooks.com i have a demo on there.

feel free to ask me anything. I am glad to help!
