Default what colors to wear during the daytime for medium/dark toned skin?

my mom says I wear my makeup too heavy and POW! when I go out to school during the day, what can I do to have a nice, sassy look during the day without looking like I spent the night at the club!?

    - Go easy on the eyeliner and mascara.
    - Use a brown mascara, (even with black eyeliner) it'll look softer.
    Uhm,
    - Smudge your eyeliner, to make it look softer
During the day I think browns, and shimmery beige's would be best, or muted colors (something not as pigmented, i suppose).

it kind of depends on your personal style and coloring...for example, my personal daytime look is foundation, bronzer, groomed brows, medium brown eyeshadow in the crease, black mascara and black cat-eyeliner. its simple yet bold w/the liner, and suits my southeast asian face and eye shape.
your best daytime look may consist of foundation, pink blush, lip gloss and black mascara, or something like mine. you should experiment with what you think are neutral looks for the daytime, and also ask your mom or your friends for their opinions on whether they think it suits you or if it's too heavy or not. also, if you have darker skin, avoid pastel or too light shades of eyeshadow and blush that will wash out your skintone, med/dark skintones tend to look best with more rich color hope that helps a bit

Don't wear dark colors during daytime. It would look as if you are putting too much make up. Just put on light and bright colors with less emphasis on the eyes..

and I agree. brown mascara really looks good!
