best way to apply concealer

hey all!
i am still confused about applying concealer on my face. I have no such spots on my face but its like my complexion is not same on my whole face. Somewhere it is fair and the other it goes pale.
i want to use concealer to hide that.
how should i do that. please tell me because when i apply foundation over this, it does not give good results.

Where your areas are fair, apply concealer that's a little darker (close to your skin tone). Where your areas are darker, apply concealer that a shade lighter than you complexion. Blend well. I use my fingers (CLEAN!). It warms up the product and allows it to go on smoother. Sponge on your foundation, as not to disturb the concealer but make sure you are blended well. Light powder over the face should do the trick.

I like to use the foundation first, because it will give you a bit of coverage before you apply the concealer, and then you need to apply less concealer. Always set with powder. Remember, you are your worst critic. Sheer layers of color will play tricks with the light and though you might think you see the different pigmentation, in natural every day situations no one else will see because of the way that they makeup works with lighting.

I've the same issue its almost like my face color is uneven so the make-up sometimes looks too light or too heavy which makes my make-up look crappy and uneven.Does the concealer balance it out in anyway perhaps?

The best way and most natural way that I have covered that problem is by applying a corrector-to completeley even and neaturalize skin tone.
But the idea I used the most is also that of sweaterkitten: foundation and spot treat with concealer.
Although-some major artist reccomend the reverse:
to apply two or three different types of foundations to correct un even skin tones and to re-build that structute with color.
if your skin is showing dry: adding more water to your diet, switching to a better cleanser toner and moisturizer may help.
