under eye concealer!

hi all!
My friend uses glasses while studying but wear lenses while on a hangout or a party. But she has dark circles under her eyes. She is not that into makeup as i am. She just called me to ask about her problem. She bough concealer for her dark circles and she asked me if to apply this before or after foundation.
I had no definite answer because i do not use concealer (my skin is clear and has no dark circles)

what i must tell her, how to apply concealer?

I apply the concealer before the foundation. i apply it with a sutible little brush but than i bland it getly with the foundation using the kabuki brush.

make sure the concealer really matched with her skin tone, because you don't want a lighter or darker shade draw attention to her dark circles. Also, i highly recommend using a concealer brush because it just makes it much easier with better coverage no doubt. I am a big fan of Laura Mericer duo concealer, or Lancome water proof concealer. So which ever brand she prefers would work! Put concealer on before foundation in most cases, and primer before concealer would work nicely. I also recommend watching tutorials on youtube because seeing it visually helps a lot of people. Hope this helps!

this is always tricky because if the shade is off just a little, it can make your circles look worse. i've used lots of different concealers and usually mix with a light undereye cream to blend it well. but best thing so far that i've tried is By terry ultra glow serum "seve de rose" with the touche veloutee concealer. i put the serum under the concealer and works well for eye contours.

Use moisturiser, then apply the concealer either with a brush, or just use the stick and then apply foundation over the top Set with powder to finish.

She needs to use a concealer that is a salmon color. Eve Pearl and Bobbi Brown make really good ones! Apply with a small concealer brush. I use my Make-up Jungle concealer brush to apply. She can apply under her foundation and then if she needs a little more, apply more after the foundation too. Just make sure it's not too heavy!

The eve pearl concealer and bobbi brown corrector in Salmon are grea or check out bisque!
I love the bobbi brown one it has shea butter so it just glides on sooooooo smooth and than i follow with foundation or just powder to set and touch up with the right concealer color.

I actually like yellow concealer for hiding circles with a matching shade to foundation on top. Concealer always goes on before foundation. For more great tips visit hereislookingatyou.com.

Jkaye: I disagree I don't think that concealer ALWAYS goes under foundation. but I agree with your yellow concealer.
Generally concealer is applied under neath your foundation-but you can apply it on top to spot treat areas.

You really have to play around and dependent on what color your circles are or how severe that is what will be the decision maker on your concealer or corrector.

It is best to help prevent it from appearing or appearing darker by applying an eye cream daily.

Many ladies have issues with the under eye concealer. If its not creasing then its too dry, then its too dark or to pink. Most of my new clients ask what concealer I use. First I take a look at their skin type, what the skins elasticity? This will tell me what kind of base texture. for example a wax base. When I was younger I used MAC's Studio Finish Concealer. I enjoyed it at that time because I was young and active outside, not that I really needed to cover dark circles, more for highlighting my eyes and cheekbones. Now Im in my mid 20's and have tried different brands of concealers, I'm in love with MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer it runs you about $17USD. I don't get mis-matched, its not thick or waxy and a little goes a long way. @LipGlossy, You stated your friend typically does not wear make up? Now, the Pro Longwear Concealer is practically weightless, and extremely natural with great coverage. Mix it with a light face lotion and you also have a great foundation

I always apply concealer over foundation, i cant say i have ever applied it under on any client i have ever done. Everyone is different though

Just an important reminder, aside from searching for the "perfect match" of concealer and foundation with the skin, make sure that you also consider whether the person is acidic or not. If she is, use a lighter shade - lighter than her skin tone. The effects of foundation or any other face products tend to darken once applied on the skin. Personally, I choose lighter shade foundation and concealer because when the sun hits my face or started to perspire, my face turns dark and my lipstick becomes dark brown from red.

hey i seen that your looking for a good concealer and i would like to recommend to anyone that reads this that from all my expierence smashbox is full coverage and works great for pimples and spotty areas on ur face. As far as dark circles go i would recommend using either bobby brown where u can match up your skin tone and always go lighter to decrease the appearence of darkness or try Smudge Pot by benefit. They both work great !!!

This is definitely a problem I suffer from also acne scars and the makeup i found that works best for me after a long search is Colortration.
