Default How to use both liquid and pencil?

Hey, so I have my birthday coming up in a few weeks and want to get my makeup sorted. Im wearing a red dress, and want to have nice make-up to suit it.
So im just wondering, how do people get their eyeliner to stay on all night?
I usually wear liquid eyeliner on my top lid making a line but I suck at knowing how and where to end that line ends? How do you make it look natural ending instead of it just looking terrible?
Also, when I go out I never wear pencil on my waterline because it just doesnt stay on, it usually only lasts like half an hour max. And I suck at putting it on the lash line, I can never make a straight line coz of the lashes getting in the way.
I dont know how to wear pencil liner all night without having to constantly reapply it and I suck at making liquid eyeliner have a nice finish. Youtube didnt help me so im wondering if any of you could give me any tips or a step by step guide? Thanks a million

Hey there, before I apply eyeshadow or eyeliner I apply MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly all over my lids if I'm doing eyeshadow or just along my top lash line if I'm just doing eyeliner. It helps set the eye makeup and keeps it looking fresh and it stays on longer.

For my top lid I use MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack and I apply it using the 266 brush which is just a really thin, slanted brush thats perfect for eyeliner. It's really intense and stays on a really long time without smudging. On my waterline I like to use Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Zero which is black. This eyeliner is one of the best eye pencils I've ever used, it's dark, really smooth and easy to apply and it stays on a long time as well. I've never had to reapply during the night.

    Hope this helps! =)

I dont know if your birthday has already occured, but a little trick that helped me with the water line is take a Q tip and rub the water line with it. This will obsorb all the water that is currently on it. Now you take your favorite eye liner and apply it as needed then you take the same color eyeshadow with a small brush of some sort and apply it right over the top of that. This will obsorb any water your eyes may product through out the day/night. As for the liquid eye liner, I really dont know how to describe it but I will try. When I apply mine, I take the corner of my lid close my eye and pull away gently. Closing your eye will get the lashes out of the way. Gently pulling it away will help with getting a straight across line. As for where the liner ends, that really is up to you. I end mine at the end of my lash line. I really hope this helped!

I prefer liquid liners since the tip won’t hurt my eyes and the ink will only be visible where I draw the line. I simply put it on the area that I want to enhance like on the corner sides of my eyes - Chinese-look. I think this blog would be able to teach you the how's of both pencil and liquid liners - littlemissmakeup.com/blog/eye-makeup-techniques/how-to-apply-liquid-eyeliner/

    How to apply liquid/pencil eyeliner:
    1. Start at the outer corner of your eye first.
    2. If you’re having trouble steadying your hand, don’t bother making one line from corner to corner. Instead, let the first part stop where you feel comfortable, such as the middle.
    3. Starting where you left off, continue adding liner in small strokes until you reach your desired length.
