What are the disadvantages of water proof mascaras?
For me its hard to take off, you really have to wash your face really good, and my eyelashes fall out.
Yes removing it is the worst part, water proof is really good for holding curls though which i like. However, it is definitely a hassle to take off (but i recommend YSL eye make up remover![]()
I am a professional makeup artist and I use MAC mascara. I try to stay away from waterproof mascara unless I am doing a bridal party... tears are bound to run at a wedding so it's kind of essential in order to keep the application fresh! Usually, I use a semi-permanent mascara. It won't run or wash off with tears or plain water but comes off easily with eye makeup remover or a cleanser (a lot of waterproof mascaras are even hard to get off with the proper remover products). Waterproof mascaras can really damage your eyelashes. It can cause them to fall out and can also weaken them. I don't recommend it unless you're going to an event where you know there might be some tears!
I hate waterproof mascara it makes my lashes dry and they break
Water proof mascara can make the eyelashes stiff. After three months, waterproof mascara gets old and has to be replaced by a new one. When removing water proof mascara eye lashes may fall.
Definitely the fact that it's so hard to take off. If you mascara is staying on your eyelashes for a few days, the chemicals start to thin out the eyelashes and that's not good news... My friend actually stopped using waterproof mascara everyday, and her eyelashes look noticeably longer. (:
I love waterproof mascara but I don't use them everyday. Aside from it being difficult to remove, it sucks all the natural oils of my lashes and make them dry/stiff. I always use EVOO to remove it because it's easier that way and it moisturizes my lashes at the same time but I don't use unless it's rainy or I'm going to the beach
Definately difficult to remove as some have already mentioned. And lash breakage.
It is kind of tough to remove, but generally holds curls very well!
