    Default Hair Loss

    Hi Girlies
I need some advice on hair loss, I seem to really loose my hair, I don't have any bald patches or anything like that just my hair falls out everywhere lol.
I looks 10 times worse at the moment coz I dyed it darker, so when I wash my hair it looks like alot more has fallen out but its about normal as I used to be blonde.

Is there anything that I can do to strenghten my hair and stop it falling out as much as it does? I know it is normal to loose hair but surley not this much.

    Sarah :-)

    • Though one has to accept the fact that there is no definite way to prevent hair loss, a little care could prevent further damage and loss of hair. Massaging the scalp for a few minutes every day will increase blood flow to the hair follicles and will prevent hair loss temporarily. In Ayurveda, Aromatherapy is recommended for reducing hair loss. Six drops each of bay and lavender essential oils can be added to four ounces of sesame oil or soybean or almond oil and massaged into the hair roots. It is recommended that one should wait for atleast 20 minutes before washing the hair.
    • Herbs like Sage and Rosemary have been proved to be effective in treating hair loss. Rosemary, peach leaf, sage, nettle and burdock should be boiled and strained and the liquid can be used for hair wash on a daily basis. For patients suffering from eczema, psoriasis, seborrhea and dandruff jajaoba oil is recommended. Jajoba oil being hypoallergenic, promotes hair growth and regulates dandruff problems.
    • Aloe Vera helps in healing the scalp, balances the PH level of the scalp and cleans the pores. A mixture of Aloe Vera gel with wheat germ oil and coconut milk promotes hair growth and reduces dandruff.
    • Amla or the Indian gooseberry is an excellent tonic for premature graying of hair and preventing hair loss. Cut a few Amla fruits into pieces, dry it in shade and boil in coconut oil until the solid matter is well cooked and appears dark in color. This oil when massaged into the scalp every day, is the best medicine for premature graying of hair. Even the water in which a few dried pieces of Amla are soaked over night can be used for rinsing hair. This is very nourishing and helps prevent premature graying. Also massaging Amla juice, mixed with almond oil and few drops of lime juice every night is found to be beneficial in treating premature graying of hair.
    • Adding curry leaves to one’s regular diet has proven to be beneficial in treating premature graying of hair, as the curry leaves add strength and vitality to hair. Curry leaves can also be boiled in coconut oil and applied regularly for healthy hair.
    • Finally, Henna, the traditional herb found in India is a good hair conditioner and is the best way to Apart from conditioning the hair, it protects against breakage of hair and gives back that natural shine to the hair.healthier hair.

    Hello,
Sorry I didnt reply sooner I was away for the weekend.
I used to use random shampoo's but now I use a shampoo designed for brown hair as I went from Blonde to Brown, but the hair loss was when I was blonde as well.

Does it make a difference what shampoo is used?

Maybe you could use organic shampoos and conditioner for colored hair. In the Philippines, they have "Malunggay" Shampoo, an organic type that helps lessen hairfall. Some use Pantene like me because it can manage my hairfall - this depends on your hair's reaction to certain products. Also, I hope you don't shampoo your hair everyday as it will easily break your hair as per my stylist. it is better to use conditioner everyday than shampoo.

    hello,

I have been conditioning my hair instead of shampooing everyday to see if that helps.

I going back to my hair dresser on Saturday and I am going to see what she suggests as well, but I just don't like the fact that my hair falls out this much, it never used to when I was younger.

Can your diet be a cause of hair loss as well? I don't eat the best of meals all the time, I probably don't get enough fruit or veg in me either. Maybe I should try and change my diet to see if that helps also.

Can anyone recommend to me a good shampoo and conditioner to use for coloured hair.

Like I said before I am not loosing my hair where I am getting balled patches it is just falling out a lot more than normal mainly when I wash or blow dry my hair.

Knowing the reasons for loosing hair can help prevent it from happening:
    HORMONAL
    Childbirth
    Birth control pills
    DISEASE OR ILLNESS
High fever, severe infection, severe flu
    Thyroid disease.
    Deficient diet
    Medications
    Cancer treatments
    low serum iron
    major surgery/chronic illness
    Alopecia Areata
Fungus Infection (Ringworm) of the scalp
    Stress
    MECHANICAL DAMAGE
    Trichotillomania or Hair Pulling
    Hair Styling Treatments
    Hair Braids/Weaves

Some food that are good for your hair. Fish, eggs and beans
Hair is primarily made of protein and, therefore, it makes sense to eat a protein-rich diet if you’re trying to maintain your healthy hair. However, eating a steak every day isn’t going to help you. High-fat diets will result in increased testosterone levels, which has been linked to hair loss -- so steaks are not among the foods that prevent hair loss. Stick to leaner proteins such as fish (which has a myriad of health benefits beyond just maintaining your hair), chicken, calf’s liver, brewer’s yeast, low-fat cheese, eggs, almonds, beans, and yogurt. Soy milk and tofu are also smart to add to your diet because they are high in protein and low in bad fats.

try using organic shampoo and conditioner, stay away from shampoo's that contains SLS/SLES it would only make your hair brittle and irritate your scalp.

I want to share to you the healing wonder of castor oil.
    • Castor oil contains Omega-9 fatty acids which help moisturize the hair and the scalp preventing both from becoming dry.
    • Does castor oil help hair grow? It sure does. Regularly applying castor oil to your scalp and roots to eliminate dry hair and promote regrowth of hair within months. It will also help to thicken hair that is thinning out.
I do apply castor oil 3 times a week before bedtime for about 3 months and during the first 3 weeks I already see improvement. I leave it on overnight and wrap it with a shower cap and a towel. Then I wash my hair in the morning with shampoo.

I hope this would help you in your hair loss problem.
