My friend got hers done because her brows are very sparse, and they look better. But they look as if they have been pencilled on. Is this the usual look to expect, or can you get them done to look more natural?

Hi! I had my eyebrows tattooed, or it was called permanent pigmentation. It lasted for a year for me, I also had my lips tattooed but that didn't stay on my lips at all. The eyebrows did look quite natural though. I'm sure it also depends on the maker.
This is one area one has to do their reseach. Yes, it is possible to get tattooed brows that look like the real thing and not like the thin bold, single solid line look.
Always look their book when you go in. Do the brows in the photos look realistic? Or do they look like a drawn-on sinlge line? Most people automatically think, hey, I'll go to a salon that does cosmetic tattooing. Wrong. Those cosmeticians who do tattooing, took a weekend seminar or course.
Your best bet is to go to a reputable and well-known tattoo shop, where they have real artists working there. Again, look at their books to see their style of work, even though you are just getting your brows done. You definately won't regret it.
Also, tattooed eyeliners will make you look dated to the time when you got them done, and no one wants a dated make-up look, or have their brows look like the McDonald's Double Arches.
