Building a makeup kit for free lance work, and looking for a good foundation palette(s) that arent too expensive.
Ben Nye recently brought out a foundation palette and a concealer palette. I have them in my pro kit as they each have 18 shades so cover a host of people (I also have MUFE HD foundations that I use a lot as well). I think, here in Canada, they are around $60 each. I know it sounds a lot but you should get a fair amount of use out of them and it means you can cover lots of shades (and contouring) with just the one foundation palette.
I've have a cream palette from Kryolan that's good. There's only 6 shades in each palette but you get more product of each shade. Go for the HD palette (theres a couple of types).
I've also heard great things about the RCMA palettes and the Graftobian palettes. You can check those out at camerareadycosmetics.com (I bought the graftobian powder foundation palette from them).
All of these are in the "affordable" catagory, but when it comes to make-up, nothings ever too cheap when you want good quaility, haha
Hope I was helpful.

I have their Ultra Foundation pallette that has 24 shades.
