Angry I Need to Find a Good Foundation!

does anyone know a foundation that looks very natural when you put it one, but covers all of the little blemishes and inperfections on the face? it doesnt matter if its pricey... just tell me! lol Cause i keep trying different ones but they never cover everything and it ends up looking fake and discusting. Also, what is the best way to APPLY it too. with sponge or a brush? Help!

i have a lot of acne and chicken pox scars - i've had really good results from (and this is part of why i started selling avon) PerfectWear Extralasting foundation. it covers REALLY well, and looks incredibly natural if you choose the right shade. i don't even use concealer under it! and it's not expensive either, regular price is (i believe) 11.99. right now it's buy one get one half off in the brochures. i personally use sponges, but some people say brushes work better.

    Hey BB Lover,

Let's find you a good foundation for your skin type. I've tried out quite a few foundations, and I've found some of the better quality ones.

If you have normal to dry skin, Clarin's True Comfort is absolutely the best liquid foundation I've found. It's amazingly comfortable, sheer, but covers up all of my acne. And it feels smooth against flakes, since it's specialized for dehydrated skin. My skin is combination, and it worked wonderfully. It is on the bit pricey side, but you don't need too much for it to cover everything.

Applying: Smooth a small amount of moisturizer over your face. Let it set in your skin for 5-10 minutes to prevent caking of your makeup. Take a makeup sponge with a small amount of liquid on it, and dab it on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose. Blend well. Toss your sponge once every week or two, otherwise it will build up oil and make your skin break out. I've found that cleaning it doesn't help much, so getting cheap Makeup sponges at Wal-mart is best.

If you're more into powder, Etsy.com has amazing handmade/custom made mineral makeup. Lighthouse Minerals only uses 3-4 ingredients, making it superior for Acne and sensitive skin. I currently use this on my combination skin, and it's amazingly light, but covers up all of my acne.

Applying: Smooth a small amount of moisturizer over your face. Let it set in your skin for 5-10 minutes to prevent caking of your makeup. Take your makeup powder brush, and swirl it into the minerals. Tap the side of your jar to remove excess (you'll be amazed at how small of an amount you need). Apply to your cheek. Swirl and tap, repeating for your other cheek, chin, nose, and forehead. Finish with Light House Mineral's Finishing Veil to set your makeup all day (trust me, truly makes a difference).

I reccommend Lighthouse Minerals for any skin type, and the Clarin's for Very dry to normal skin.

Face and Body Foundation from MAC is my all time fave foundations... i carry 4 colors with me in my kit and use them on EVERYONE!!! $32 at a MAC PRO store... this foundation is %50 water and %50 foundation, water proof and transfer resistant --- i am telling you, this is the BEST foundation on the market and used at almost every runway show - apply it with your hands at first (not perfect or even) then go back with a duel fiber brush (black natural hair at the bottom and white synthetic hair on top) - #187 MAC) then go OVER the foundation u already put on, with the brush to diffuse it into the skin.... you will be thanking me for this on
so foundation first put on with fingers
then take clean brush to diffuse into the skin
    you'll loooove

I just got a new foundation that I love..which is hard to find because I have really sensitive skin...Lise Watier. You can get it with or without the sunblock in it. You can get it at shoppers and its not overly expensive either!!

A lot of suggestions already, going to add my favourite too . I'm totally in love with the Make Up For Ever HD foundation. It's buildable without looking cakey and has a very natural looking finish. I don't even feel I'm wearing a full face of make up. In fact, I've had people commenting on how good my skin looks without them even noticing I'm wearing foundation. It comes in various shades and they blend very well with your natural skin colour. And it gets even better, some foundations come of when you brush your hand or some clothing against your face...this one doesn't! And it lasts all day!

I have tried several MAC foundations, but they all make me break out although my skin can take a lot and doesn't usually do that. The new Studio Sculpt though is quite good. It is a little heavier coverage than the MUFE HD.

I usually start my routine by putting moisturizer on my face and letting my skin 'absorb' it, takes about 10-15 min. Then I apply primer, letting that sink in as well for a few minutes. Then I put a blob (pee size) of foundation on the back of my hand, some prefer a different surface, it's all good. Then I take my MAC 190 brush and work my way down from my forehead making sure I blend it in well at the hairline and ears and all that. Around my eyes I switch to the MAC 194 brush, it's smaller so I can really reach without stabbing my eye out or something lol. When my entire face is covered I check if there are places that need a bit more coverage and touch that up (if necessary) then take a little brush again and put on concealer. After that I take the MAC 187 brush and lightly (!) set the foundation with powder.

Go to a MAC store or counter, not at a drug store. MAC has lots of different choices. I use different ones from MAC. I work there. And use a brush not a sponge. You lose 50% of your foundation in a sponge.

Try Revlon ColorStay. Same coverage as MAC, for under 12 bucks as opposed to 40 for MAC. Plus Revlon has a larger color selection. MAC made me breakout the one time I tried it. The Revlon one works wonders, and I barely have to use concealer

Sheer Cover is a mineral makeup brand

I tried Revlon Color Stay and found it pretty good, but I think I chose the wrong shade
I have an Avon one that is pretty good too, I will need to find out the name for it!

I really really want to try MAC Studio Fix and Face and Body!

Hey try exfoliating lightly first, always use toner then a primer, Vagheggi has a great one, then try a fluid foundation like Vagheggi #10 or #20 works on most light skin tones, 30 for darker. Great foundation for excellent coverage and dry skin.
I like Merle Norman's mineral powder foundation as well it gives great coverage and feels clean on my skin .
Mineral powders reduce redness which is great.

You have to keep in mind that we all have different undertones in our skin. If you have orange or pink this will effect the true colour of your foundation. I would suggest going to a large store ( depending where you live) Usually the make-up artist will be able to help you choose the right colour depending on your needs.

I have found that using a makeup brush works best and gives great coverage.

Depending on your age, you could use a moisturizing tint which should have SPF of some kind and a slight shade which is more natural for daytime. If you tell me your age and what else is going on with your skin I would be better to help you.

I am a Esthetician and Make-Up Artist for over 14 years.

I break out alot so ive tryed to stay away from mac foundations or skin primers. i always see them but havent really wanted to spend a lot if it ws going to go to waste, but christian dior satin foundation is AMAZINGG i definately love this. it covers my acne scars and spots really well and looks seriously natural if you apply the right shade. i tend to use a brush to apply it but when i use my christian dior nu foundation (more of a sheer foundation) i sometime apply it with my hands if im n a rush and it just gives a really nice healthy shine and gleam to my face and makes my scars look less apparent but really natural. i would definately recommend the foundations from christian dior (Y) xx
