what is th BEST concealer?! i need to know!

so i've worked at the body shop for a while and i have been using my discount and just getting most of my makeup there, and concealer is one of them.

not very good at all, so im going out makeup shopping tomorrow and i wanna know what anyone thinks the best concealer is, price is NOT an issue.

please help!

MAC...go check out a counter or store. They have several different kind! I work there and I loooove it!!

It depends on what you are trying to cover exactly. How much coverage you want. Studio Finish is going to cover tattoos, Select Cover-Up is the kind most people use or the Sculpt is new. I like those 3. Also when you put concealer on, use a brush not a sponge or your finger. You won't use up and waste it all that way. Just a tapered eye shadow brush will work, that's what I use. It doesn't have to be a concealer brush.

The foundation brush I haven't tried yet, but it could work. I will have to try it. I use a smaller brush because it will cover better...I am trying to think how to explain it (I'm pregnant lol!). The thicker brushes tend to not leave enough product on your face, which you want for foundation and not for concealer. Concealer brushes are thinner to keep it on so you can get covered. You don't want lots of foundation on that's why they are thicker so it's not cakey. I hope that makes sense. But yeah go ahead and give it a try.

again, as iv suggested beore; 2true concealer from superdrug. it's £1.95 and a liquid based concealer with a sponge applicator; making it light reflecting and effective

there is a brand called "the balm" you can find it at sephora, they make an awesome concealer called "time balm" and it has anti-wrinkle agents in it too! i love it and it works great on under eye circles.

Go to Sephora and look at Stila Perfecting concealer....by far one of the best I have every tried. I used mac for a while, then I got the Stila concealer from a rep and fell in love with it. It is so good and you only use a little bit, that one tube for $22 will last you almost a year!!! I have been using this for a little over two years and probably will not ever switch to something new..

It depends on if you want it for undereye circles or blemishes but I love Maybelline Mineral Power concealer. It's very well pigmented so it covers extremely well but it doesn't get cakey or settle poorly into lines. Very light and easy to blend. I've also heard wonderful things about MUFE concealer.

honestly the concealer/cover-up i use only costs $11 a container.

I love MAC makeup, and their concealer covers up very well BUT (and this is a major but), MAC makeup is stage makeup, which means that it is used for performers and people who need their makeup to stay on for a long time. If you have sensitive skin, or tend to break out often like I do, then you definitely DO NOT want to use MAC face makeup (specifically any liquid makeup). I suggest using Urban Decay 24/7 concealer stick, I LOVE them. It really is the best concealer I've found. It's amazing. They're cute and compact enough that you can carry it around in your pocket for any quick touch ups. I use the UD concealer sticks along with Maybelline Pure Makeup Foundation. It's shine free it's water based, and oil free. That foundation on top of the UD concealer works AMAZINGLY!!! I usually top it off with a little bit of Too Faced Mineral Bronzer, it's lighweight and has a gorgeous but subtle glimmer to it. I absolutely LOVE it. I hope this helps you out!! MAC makeup is not "stage" makeup. Yes it's true it will last, but it's not stage makeup per se. I work for MAC and I am a performer. I don't use MAC for going on stage for a play. I could, but not for everything. Just letting you know, it's regular makeup. But it's really great!!!

It is very possible I was given the wrong information. One of the makeup artists at the MAC store I go to told me that it was stage makeup, and a thicker and more oily concentration makeup. I'm not in any way bashing MAC makeup, I'm simply saying that for me, the MAC concealers and foundations made me break out very badly, and on top of that their makeup isn't very cheap. Don't get me wrong, I love MAC, I just personally wouldn't reccomend MAC face makeup over other brands.

I do have a question though. I don't know if you will know the answer, but what is in the face makeup that makes it so thick and last so long? It did some serious damage to my skin when I used the concealers, I just don't want to get another product that will do that.

That is what I meant by saying it's stage makeup. It's used a lot for performance, modeling type things.

When you get your makeup on and you feel too cakey add some moisturizer on top just a bit and dab it on. It will smooth it out and will even out the foundation. Give that a try.
