Should Concealer go on before or after foundation?

I was just wondering when exactly should I put on concealer before or after foundation or does it even matter??

I usually use my concealer AFTER my foundation because by doing this it gives you clearer looking skin .Usually if you use concealer before the foundation some of the concealer gets rubbed of by the foundation and you dont get the clear smooth look x

oh shit, i had no idea, i have ALWAYS put on my concealer BEFORE my foundation, never thought there was even an option to put it on after lol

I always put it on after. Most makeup artists I've read put it on afterwards too.

It depends if its undereye or for blotches, pimples, etc.
For under eyes I usually put on on AFTER. Doing so keeps the effect of "awake eyes" still there. putting it first leaves the chances of applying foundation over the concealer. For blotches, pimples, dicoloration, etc. I put that on BEFORE my foundation so i dont have random white spots everythere.
so what i do it apply my concealer to my pimples or whatever, then i put on foundation with a brush everywhere, then apply my concealer under the eyes. then i set it with any type of face powder: pressed or loose.

it depends on what you like.. i like to put it on before so i dont have different color spots also and plus because i use prescriptives mineral makeup or a powder instead of liquid foundation

It really all depends on what you prefer. I use to pre-conceal, but it was a pain when my foundation would go over it and make it look cakey. Try appling after your foundation, that way you don't have to apply so much concealer.

I use a green concealer to combat any redness on my face. I use it before my foundation to make my face more even-toned.

i dont need that much coverage, i only have a couple pinkish red spots that i dab a little yellow concealer over, then i put bareminerals over it and it still looks good. i think if you need more spot coverage or use liquid foundation, definitely put concealer after tho.

yeh I find that if you put it on beffore... you end up rubbing it off when aplaying the foundation... I find that after foundation and before powder works best

I first use MAC eye primer, then I put my concealer on, follow it with foundation, sometimes I'll add some more concealer (depending on how dark my circles are). Then to seal it I lightly pat on powder BUT just lightly using my pinky finger.....

I always apply concealer AFTER foundation because if you thinking about it foundation has coverage and if you apply concealer after foundation you tend to use less of it because the foundations done half the work!

putting concealer on AFTER foundation is the way to do it because if you think about it foundation gives you half the coverage and you tend to use less concealer that way!

If I have red spots or dark circles I use the green or yellow concealer first to contrast the color I don't want then put on my foundation and then if I need to conceal further then I do it after. That way it stays on and my spots are perfectly concealed. If you use a color corrector after foundation then you can see it and it draws more attention to the area or you have to spend more time blending and you end up having to put something else on top anyway.

I use to apply it after, but I prefer applying it before. I find it looks less obvious that I'm wearing concealer because I'm able to blend a bit of foundation on top of where the concealer stops, preventing me from looking like I just took off a pair of goggles.

Same here! I never had any idea that concealers can be applied after the foundation as well. I should have thought of that before! Anyway, what's done is done. Maybe tomorrow, I'll try it.
