what is the best foundation for dark skin?

Being a dark skinned girl its really hard to find a good foundation, as most foundations have very little range for dark skinned girls as many of us know! so i was just wondering if there were any other girls out there suffering the same problem and could give me advice? thanks xxx

well i have a dark skin tone and it took me ages just to find the right foundation to siut my skin and then what i realized is the best in maybelline they have darker colours than most other cosmetics and maybelline is what i have been using for about a year now

i agree, drugstore wise i think maybelline and covergirl (has the queen latifah collection now specifically for darker skins) have color good selections. im not that familiar with the high end brand foundations bc as a college kid and in general, ive never been able to buy the expensive makeup. im guessing MAC and some other high end brands that you see in sephora and whatnot probably have pretty good selections but its pricey.

im cambodian so im just like deep tan and not extremely dark, but i used to have problems with finding anything darker than medium! especially concealer! now i use bareminerals and even that is 25 bucks a jar of foundation but i figure its worth it if since it lasts a long time. ive heard of online cosmetics sites that cater to darker skin ppl but those too are pricey unfortunately

Mary Kay has a good line of liquid foundation that goes on really well and is reasonable. If you have oily skin, then use the medium coverage, and if your skin is normal or dry, use the full coverage. I was surprised because someone who is a mac makeup artist told me about it and I fell in love. Another good one is makeup forever foundation that you can find at sephora and thats also good for dark skin tones

amazing cosmetics hands down! it NEVER looks ashy. it is a makeup line specifically for darker skinned people!

Its a bit more expensive, but Bobbi Brown has an excellent range of foundations for darker skin.

Joe Blasco's UltraBase has 10 dark shades and Kryolan's Ultra Foundation series has 8. and M.A.C. has about 8 shades as well. Most other lines like Ben Nye, RCMA, Cinema Secrets, Kett, have about 4-5 dark shades.

Face Atelier has some adjusting formulas in their Ultra Foundation Pro foundations called "Zero Minus" t lighten foundations and then 2 to darken foundations called "Zero Plus" and Zero Plus Plus". You just add a drop or 2 to your foundation if it isnt dark enough and the formula darkens it depending on how much you add.
I haven't tried it but I have seem people work with it and who love it! I think there might be one or two other brands that have a similar product too.

Yes, Kett and OCC have something very similar. Essentially, you're toning down or tinting up your foundation shade.
